Screw It!
You may or may not know this, but the screws that come with your exterior door hinges, deadbolts, and doorknobs are only about ½ inch – ¾ inch long.
What that means if someone really wanted to kick in your door, it wouldn’t be that hard to do. Consider replacing those screws with ones that are 2 inches or longer.
The longer screws will anchor into the sturdy framing behind your door frame, making it much harder if someone was to try to pry or kick your doors open.
